The Project:
The three triangular towers, propose a new icon within the fabric of the city for housing, retail and hospitality. The angular shapes of the towers create an iconic identity-making its presence known in the mexican Architecture and Art scene. The arrangement of the residential units ensure privacy by orienting the units to avoid a direct line of sight into another apartment. Additionally, the design incorporates an atrium space that is filled with daylight and a vertical green wall attached to the elevator core. The three story retail podium occupies most of the lot area, while a central, sky lit, triple height atrium connects each of the retail floors and allows the scheme to comply with the 80% lot coverage requirement.
Towers on the north side and west sides of the site are smaller, in order to comply with height requirements, while the south-east corner is occupied by the tallest tower with the largest floor-plate containing both residential and hotel units. Compositionally, regardless of its large footprint, the triangular shape gives the illusion of a delicate and slim tower. It’s composition blends in with the city fabric without disrupting the historical neighborhood surrounding the site.

Retail atrium space on Level 1
A simple and iconic overhanging concrete texture on each of the triangular shaped towers provides shade for the residential units and circulation space. Each facade is accented by a color referencing the renowned ‘Satellite Towers’ sculpture outside of Mexico city by Luis Barragan; the color is only visible from one direction, and that direction changes from tower to tower, ensuring a unique experience from every vantage point.
